Chiropractic Physicians: Spine Specialists

Chiropractic clinics, including Better Health Pain and Wellness Centers, are becoming increasingly popular with patients seeking relief from neck and back pain. In 2003, approximately 30 million Americans sought care from chiropractic physicians – a number that has doubled over the past 15 years. With up to 15 percent of Americans suffering from low back pain right now, and up to 12 percent suffering from neck pain, it’s no wonder they are seeking relief from chiropractors, who are experts in caring for bones, nerves, muscles and tissues.
Neck and Back Pain

Chiropractors know neck and back pain is often caused by a subluxation, which is when a vertebra is out of position or is “stuck,” due to stiff muscles, worn out or bulging discs, or even scar tissue. Subluxations are typically caused by poor posture, injury, occupations involving sitting or lifting for long periods of time, and lack of activity. Left untreated by a chiropractor, subluxations will worsen, starting or causing further stiffness, arthritis, pain, numbness, loss of mobility and loss of strength.
The good news is that regular chiropractic care can slow, stop and even reverse many of these problems. Gentle and non-invasive, the effects of chiropractic care are long-lasting. Additionally, chiropractic is currently the most widely practiced type of complementary medicine, and is often the alternative to spinal surgery.
Benefits of Chiropractic Care Include:
-
Pain relief
-
Reduced muscle spasms
-
Slows development of arthritis
-
Increased mobility
-
Improved posture
-
Reduced chance of injury or re-injury
Gentle, non-invasive care
"I have had sciatica for the past 12 years and low back pain for the last 3 years. Standing and walking became difficult to do without pain. After two weeks of chiropractic treatment, I'm already much better."

At Better Health’s chiropractic clinic, you can trust the experienced hands of your chiropractor – we’ve performed hundreds of thousands of chiropractic adjustments on thousands of patients just like you.
If you have a subluxation, your chiropractor performs a chiropractic adjustment, which involves the use of gentle force on the vertebrae. Chiropractic adjustments will restore proper position, motion and nerve flow. Afterwards, you should feel pain relief and improved mobility.
Done regularly, even in the absence of symptoms, chiropractic treatment will aid the spine in becoming healthier, more flexible, and slow the deterioration of the spine.
What Can I Expect?
Initially, your chiropractic treatment will likely be directed at the areas you are experiencing pain. As your chiropractic treatment progresses over subsequent visits, your chiropractor may treat areas where you may not have pain, to aid in the prevention of problems before they occur.
