Shoulder Pain/Impingement/Rotator Cuff Problems
What it is:
Your rotator cuff is a tendon connecting the four muscles that lift and rotate the shoulder. Sometimes, as the arm is lifted, the front part of the shoulder blade rubs against the rotator cuff. This puts pressure on the rotator cuff, creating a condition called impingement.
Impingement is one of the most common causes of shoulder pain in adults. It may be caused by bursitis or tendonitis .
Often, shoulder pain or problems are misdiagnosed as a local problem with the shoulder, when the problem is with the cervical spine, or neck.
