What it is:
Spondylosis refers to the bony growths on the vertebrae in the spine. Problems like spondylosis can occur when these bone growths interfere with the spinal cord or nerves.
Spondylosis is a degenerative disease that occurs in most people as they age. Spondylosis is usually a result of disc degeneration that has been left untreated.
Where it occurs:
Spondylosis can appear in the:

Neck (cervical spine)

Low back (lumbar spine)

Middle and upper back (thoracic spine)
When spondylosis occurs in the neck, it is called “cervical spondylosis.” When spondylosis appears in the low back, it is referred to as “lumbar spondylosis.”
